I vividly remember planning a holiday line years ago for my stationery shop.
I printed letterpress greeting cards and custom stationery and I wanted to debut some custom wrapping paper and these really cool gift card holders I wanted to try out. (See how cute it is?)
Slowly, I started to get overwhelmed, because there was a lot more research I had to do to get these items printed. I also didn’t really know how to design a template for those cool gift card holders I was so excited about. Although I thought I had enough time to do it all, in typical Kimberly fashion, I had procrastinated and was of course, rushing.
Despite the time constraints, I took my sweet time designing everything and even though I enjoyed it, I ended up creating a ton of products that were done some time in December… I missed the entire holiday season.
You start off with the best intentions to get your products ready for the holidays but slowly you get overwhelmed with all the steps it takes to actually develop a product.
Maybe you don’t even know all the steps you need to take to make that product and you just end up frustrated.
If you do manage to create said product, you finish so late you miss the holiday season anyway.
Obviously, you’re not alone. It happens to the best of us.
After that incredibly frustrating holiday season, I promised myself I’d find a way to not let this happen again.
Because with a proven system & tools to help, you can kick overwhelm to the curb.
Creating any kind of product, be it digital or physical doesn’t have to be difficult if you know the steps beforehand, have the tools you need, and give yourself enough time.
With a simple process, you can plan ahead, break down the steps, and figure out where you’ll need to spend more time. Then you don’t have to feel overwhelmed or rushed and you’ll end up with beautiful products that are ready in time for the holidays.
Then you can enjoy the creation process, design products you’re excited about, and have them ready in time for the holiday season!
So if you want a smooth holiday season this year, my advice is to plan ahead!
You’ll be so glad you did when you’re sipping eggnog in early December, reading lovely comments about your wonderful products!
